The Bradbury Building
Across the street from Grand Central Market in Downtown LA, you will find this architecture gem. Opened in 1893, it was completely restored in the 1990s. Many movies were shot there, such as Blade Runner and The Artist. The lobby is opened to visitors. The rest of the building is occupied by offices. Can you imagine going to work in such a beautiful space every day?

The Walk Disney Concert Hall
Designed by Frank Gehry to resemble a ship sailing down Grand Avenue. Stairways and walkways allow you to climb the structure to get really unique views of the building and the downtown landscape. Stop by Otium for a drink after (it's next door). They have a great selection of cocktails. Try the PB&J, a drink made of botanist gin, peanut butter, pomegranate, Campari and egg white (surprisingly good!). I always pair it with their crispy potatoes (to die for).

In La Jolla near San Diego. Clothing is optional (you've been warned!). To access the beach, go down the trail behind The Torrey Pines paragliding school.
On the way back from the beach, don't miss the architectural tours of the Salk Institute, a modernist beacon. The guided tours are offered at noon Monday through Friday.
